Gratitude

The pace of life can make us blur what's important. We are all so busy in today's world. Rushing here, rushing there. We've become so used to a "microwavable world" where everything is fast and at our fingertips. Life is not microwavable. Life is a slow cooker. Things have to simmer, flavors have to meld before our life is complete. We must always try to make time for the important things in our life, for starts and stops for ups and down, and for thanking those that help us.

There are moments when someone says something or does something that changes the course of your life, puts the wind in your sails, etc. Those are ususally the people that believe in us, or what I like to call our Balcony people. People who believe in you, encourage you, laugh when you laugh, call when you need a kind word, cry with you, scream with you but all the while giving you the extra you need to try something, do something, say something that you would normally not. We all have those balcony people. But how many of us take the time to actually thank them for all they do.

I want to take this time to pause and THANK all my balcony people. Although, I'm sure there have been many many more that don't pop into my mind this drizzly morning there are some that do Frank, Lori, Linda, Dave, Katrina, Miriam, Elizabeth, Paul, Katherine, Rita and of course my Dad. Those individuals listed are such great eddifiers in life. They know how to lift, motivate and mobilize. Congratulations to all of you for being balcony people!!!!

Remember - J.M. Laurence said "It's not WHAT we have in our life, but WHO we have in our life that counts"

I am always working on an attitude of gratitude. True richness does not come from what you have but from what you enjoy. Those of us lucky enough to have D as our friend have riches.
